TLDR:
1: Look for the Braided/Twisted wires, they are your data cables.
2: Do a continuity test to determine the GND wire
3: To be on the safe side you can use a coin cell in a pinch to determine the positive wire by looking out for a voltage dip. (optional)
These things are pretty robust, I didn’t fry the first one after giving it 10+ VDC in desperation.

What size diodes to use
Just a FYI for anyone. All webcams out of laptops have two twisted wires. Those are always your daya lines
Awww… Sky!!! Sky is awesome!!! More videos with sky pleaseee.
Do u make for people
Thanks for the info……….What type and the model of the camera you used to make this video, because I like the quality very much, specially the saturation of color. Thanks in advance
Hmm I'm confused there are five wires and u just used 4
But what if you don’t have the cable with the camera
I would have guessed LED +/- for those braided ones at the beginning. Will keep watching to see if I'm right.
Same as u show in Ur video I did it actually works.and the light also works fine so we can connect it thru OTG to phone but what application it need to be turn on in android?
Please don't learn from this video…
Good work!
LMAO , mine had the same wire color on both cable.
great fun to follow your progress
The datalines are the twistet wires, Power are the Red one and the bouth Black ones togeter. If it says Devise Not recognized, simply switch bouth of the twistet pair sometimes there are two positiv And/or two negativ
alright so i got the job done but when I go to a camera app windows loses the camera and the led comes on the camera board…any idea whu and what can be done?anybody….or at least point me in the direction of an answer
YOU make video how connect home camera into mobile
A Morty
I've tried this and all three are now destroyed
sorry, you don't know what you are doing
use ur meter set it on continuity ok so attach one wire to the ground on the board then touch the other wire from ur meter to the wires from the cam and that will show ur ground wire so whats left is power or a mic and u can just repeat this step tyo find out
Nice!… Now put the microphone fron the same old laptop!!
One shouldn't make a video when man does not know what he is doing. This video should be titled, how to confuse people in need of correct information.
sir what can we do to transmit that live video on internet so that even outside the owner will be able to whatch what is happening in his house
Usually positive is always red. He should of looked up the wire diagram after the fact that he fried it he should recheck the one he said he fried. If you tell people you fried it why should we finish watching the video. lol 30 years into this field pc building and repair + 15 other pc fields & the way you teach is wrong. But nice try. 😉
try switching the data
Why you didn't show the connections of last one😭 am stuck i got 8 wired camera and that sucks!
Hi
I have a webcam cn-0k143j-72487-971
could you tell me how to connect it because at the end of the movie you managed to connect it
Could you make a tutorial of how phone camera parts turn into a spy camera
Definitely use the microphone
Excellent video!. Can u tell me how goes the CK7794V-0 wiring pinout? I can't distinguish all the wires colors at the end of the video. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. I really liked seeing your failures as well as successes. It really is beneficial to the troubleshooting perspective.
my laptop is dell and the camera is from an old Toshiba laptop , does it have to be the same type of my laptop? because it doesn't work!!
The diodes you use is 1N4001?
You were lucky that the cat helped you :)), isn't she cute..
fantastic dude but, how i wireless it.
Fantastic buddy, this is what I am into frankenstein electronic projects making stuff from old crap. take care
this is much more like a journal video. good video, thumbs up!
very informative video, i love that you put the effort to go through 4 different camera modules and didn't just call it quits after the first one that worked which conveniently only had 4 wires, thanks for that 🙂
I'm having an issue with my camera module. I'm able to tell which ones are the data wires since they're braided (mine are red and silver) but i'm unable to tell which of the other 5 wires are ground and 5V (yes mine has 7 wires, kill me now). I'm new to working with wires so i've never used a multimeter before. I just wanted to ask if you'd be able to tell which wires are which by the serial number on my camera module? it's probably a long shot but i thought i'd ask anyway.
Serial no: CKE7D 94V-0 (seems like it's similar to one of yours)
wires: green, yellow, orange, silver and black.
thanks in advance
ur twisted pair wires will be your data + and –
other 2 shielded wires are for microphone
What was the positive, neg, d+ & d- wire of integrated webcam (last one) plz rply
I didn't understand how you found the positive wire
Really good videos! Deserve more view.
