Make sure you get the latest BIOS. Thermal throttling is an issue. At least for the little bro 7540 (and i9 or Xeon)
Hi Buddy!
I have been using the Dell Precision 7740 for a while. I can say it's a great device. I would definitely recommend.

As an apple/mac user for 36-years, I still find myself looking at windows based options for business document scanners and voice dictation. This unit is very high-end, but the build quality of the mac spoils me. I cringed when you pressed on the keyboard keys, and the entire keyboard flexed like a cheap 300-dollar unit.
I much prefer the look of the m6700 and m6800s, these look like latitudes, and the the materials are quite patchwork
Thank you for the content. I want to ask you about the 7750 precision, What time gonna be available? Now we are in 2020. I think soon 🔜. Tell me your opinion. Thank you
I like the Dell keyboard a lot more than the HP Zbook 17 G5. My fingers were sliding off the keys with the HP and button travel was not as good. I really didn't want it for working regularly so I returned the HP.
I bought the UHD display (3840×2160) model but had to send it back as the backlight was causing me eye strain. I've ordered the 1920×1080 model which according to NotebookCheck.net should not be using a PWM backlight. Fingers crossed.
Honestly, though I feel like I didn't need the extra resolution when I tried both it and the HP Zbook 17 G5 with the same display type.
it's nVIDIA, not "navida"…
Sir,
I am pursuing Bachelor's in Architecture. I'm in second year.
I was looking for a laptop for CAD, 3-D Modelling, and Rendering.
Shall I go for a Mobile Workstation like this? Or shall I go for a gaming laptop?
Thanks!
Why not the metalic body ? Why Dell is taking premium price n giving substandard finished product..?
Proud owner of Dell M4800.
loved your review. God bless ya.
Watching Your smiling face is pleasure…
Keep up…
Absolutely loved the "Monster of Workstation Laptop…"
hello my friend! Thanks for your review!
Could you share the ac power adapter size ?
If I want to turn on the device for the first time do I need to plug in adaptor or not? thanks!
nice saber!
Hey Man so does it thermal throttle, these cpus tend to run hot and I dont want thermal issues to limit my hardware, so are they thermal throttling when running cpu and gpu stress tests at the same time like Aida64 and Heaven Benchmark
cool this one is a good one , much better than 5540 🙂
First unboxing from 7740 on the net. Congratulations!
Excellent review, keep up the good work man! God Bless!!
I received this laptop for work. Sorry for my stupid question but what would happen if I use a power adapter of 130 watts in this machine? Thanks.
What disappointed me with this laptop is it don’t have a cd driver. Dell agent told me none of their laptops have a cd rom drive

whats the difference between this and the 7730? it looks exactly the same and the specs are the same too?
Really looking forward to an in-depth review of this unit from you! Awesome work, keep it up!
In this video the keyboard is wobbling alot and make the keybaord look cheap. How is the keyboard compared to a Lenovo P-workstation?
BSIANDAD, Hello bro, Please when doing the follow up review, kindly let us know the noise levels on medium/high performance modes. Also tell us if it overheats under medium/high load. Finally, we would like to know the battery life, we want to know if it reaches 4 to 5 hrs under medium/high load. Thanks in advance brother. waiting to hear from you.
pretty clear information. Thank you! One question, is it good for gameplay with ultra graphics?
Woahhh.
At 5:33 You said Hard Drive is “PCMIE “
On the screen you wrote PCI-E
It’s so great it can take 4 drives.
I don’t think the name has an “m” in there.
At 5:17 & 5:22 … EECC ?
I think the error correcting ram is ECC as you wrote on the screen ( that stuff is expensive)
You said EECC ram, which I have not heard about before. 😁
I've got 7730 pretty much the same , build like a tank and good quality materials carbon fibre , metals etc , like expansion slots on mainboard nvme 4 lanes max speed , looks dated , screen ok but not brilliant full hd seems to be to small for this laptop qhd will be perfect , first impresion of screen was grained picture compare to latitude 7490 , screen overall is a downfall brightess is weak acceptable but can be better , quiet on idle , ventilation ports awesome design keep laptop cool , 240W power brick i remember my first pc has 200W power supply in it lol , keyboard as always in latitude or precisions as good as can be for me reference point , lid can open with one hand , really good specs fast processor , fast nvme or memory , heavy need to get used to it.
Excellent ! !
Thanks
